A different New York

My friend Islandia took these photos the other day when she was out wandering. Islandia lives near midtown Manhattan, a (usually) heavingly busy place.

What my beloved New York is going through right now breaks my heart. These photos, of course, are disconcerting because they show quiet where there should be activity, but there is still far, far too much activity happening in New York’s hospitals – and until that changes, better the quiet (I am very afraid that an attempt to return to ‘normal’ too early will break the city even further). I just wanted to share because they made me stop while I idly scrolled Instagram, and also, because I so wholeheartedly agree on the pizza call.
