Hello! How are you, how was your weekend? We went up to the country again – third weekend in a row! Usually we don’t go up so often, especially in winter, but after a false start last weekend due to the builder being sick, we finally broke ground on the next stage for Wonderview!

We are adding a standalone bunkroom. All the yays for friends being able to come stay again! It’s a really simple structure, detached from the main house, but we are positioning it so that getting from it to the rest of the house is fast, easy and relatively sheltered, as you can see below (bunkroom on the right)…

We’ve gone back and forth so many times about what the right thing to do here is, and always kept coming back to the one simple problem of not having enough space for friends to come and stay comfortably. This bunkroom rectifies that and I’m so excited. Should be done by Christmas? Hopefully? The builders are off to a strong start!
We’ve been doing a fair bit at Wonderview as of late actually. The weekend previous we arrived a little deflated, due to hearing on the way up that the builder was unwell and wouldn’t be able to make it, and knowing we were in for a pretty rainy weekend – but we rallied quickly and decided to use our energy to revamp the laundry cupboard instead. We’d had the paint for a while and decided that weekend was an ideal opportunity to use it. It’s really hard to take good pictures of the laundry cupboard (as you’ll see, haha) but the paint came out great! Just makes opening that cupboard that bit more special.

The laundry cupboard is in the bathroom, and completing that has inspired us to get a wriggle on with the rest of the room also. We’re making some light cosmetic changes (wallpaper, panelling) – can’t wait to share before and afters here when all that’s done also!
