For the last couple of months I’ve also been doing these monthly round-ups as Reels on Instagram. Can’t believe I’m making Reels. 😂 They’re fun! And a lovely way to include more memories as I can add video to them also. Check July’s out, if you want – or just read on to see catch up with how our July has been!
1. Bali – and the fun flight there!
We spent a week in Bali in July! It was the first time any of us had been there and we had the loveliest time. Amelie got to give out the sweets on the flight there and she was thrilled. The holiday itself was magic of course…more on that to come!

2. Beaches
I say it so often but the fact remains…I just love the beach. I visit it almost every day and I swear, nothing makes me feel better than getting some salt air and watching the waves. My love for the beach is shared with the whole family. When we find ourselves with a little bit of spare time in the morning Amelie and I love to head down there to watch the sun come up before the walk to school. Theo delights in it, of course – he runs straight into the water whenever he can – and when the tide is low, we can walk right around the rocks to other beaches, which is so much fun. And this is winter! Imagine how wonderful this is going to be in summer.

3. LIZZO!
Hayden and I went out to the first concert we’ve been to since, I think, 2018?! We saw Lizzo at Spark Arena and it was the MOST fun. It blows my mind thinking about how impossible this would have been just a couple of years ago. There were so many people there, all having the absolute best time. I spent most of the night up dancing – my thighs hurt for a couple of days afterwards and it was well worth it!

4. Being away
We spent a long weekend down in Hawkes Bay at the end of the month, celebrating our friend’s 40th and seeing Hayden’s family. Such a lovely weekend! It was cold and crystal clear most of the time we were there – perfect Hawkes Bay weather. I took these photos one morning when I walked up Sugar Loaf, a steep hill on the outskirts of Napier. Check out the snow on the ranges!

5. Being with friends
As I mentioned, we were down in Hawkes Bay to celebrate our friend’s 40th. We went to Crab Farm Winery for a long lunch, then back to another friend’s place for the ‘afterparty’. This particular group of friends is made up of Hayden’s school friends, but after nearly 18 years together, I’ve well and truly been adopted by them also. We’re almost all turning 40 this year – here’s to 40! – and it was so great to get together and celebrate in the place where they grew up (most of them don’t live in Hawkes Bay anymore).

It was a great month. How was your July?!
